GET INVOLVED:

Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community. We are committed to making a difference in Buckhannon and beyond.

Community Outreach Dinner

First Baptist Church (FBC) participates in a community Spaghetti dinner on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. We love to serve and love our neighbors through this meal.

Widows for Christ

The Widows for Christ meet once a month for fellowship and fun. The group offers friendship and support and do many activities in the community.

American Baptist Women’s Ministries

The ABW group at FBC is very active. Though small in number they make quite an impact. The ladies are committed to serving and honoring God with their gifts and talents. Some of the projects they participate in are White Cross, Mission Outreach Projects, supporting scholarship girls, hosting dinners, adopting Holbrook residents, Love Gift, Least Coin and many more. All women are invited to participate in ABW activites, there are no dues or membership required.

Operation Christmas Child

First Baptist Church (FBC) is a drop off location for OCC. On collection week in November the office is opened for area churches and individuals to drop off their shoe boxes.  Workers at FBC pack the boxes and put them on a truck to Bowden, WV. We know the impact these boxes have on a child’s life overseas. This ministry is one way we can share God’s love beyond our own borders!

Prayer Partners

This is a prayer ministry for the children of our church.  At the beginning of a new school year adults choose a child to pray for and send encouraging notes to during the school year. This partnership not only encourages us to be in prayer for one another, it helps build inter-generational relationships. We believe these relationships will help strengthen the faith of our children for a lifetime.
